CHAPTER 2

The city of Hyderabad is in its usual evening gridlock. The sky overhead is a deep, bruised purple, with the last vestiges of orange fading on the western horizon, giving way to the inky blackness that will soon dominate.

As the evening progresses, the sky will darken to an inky black, dotted with the first hesitant stars. The city lights will become sharper, more defined, painting the buildings with streaks of gold and neon. The sounds will grow louder, too: the buzz of conversations spilling from bars, the laughter of people enjoying their night out, the steady thrum of the city truly coming alive.

The sudden blare of horns jerks Vanshika back to reality. The car lurches to a stop, then another, then a chorus of impatient honking erupts from behind her. She cranes her neck, irritation already simmering, and sees the cause: two men, swaying precariously, are having a loud, gesticulating argument right in the middle of the road. Their slurred shouts carry even over the cacophony of frustrated drivers, and one of them nearly topples over, narrowly avoiding a fender. This is all she needs. The party starts in twenty minutes, and now she's stuck, staring at the pathetic spectacle of two drunken idiots ruining everyone else's Friday night. She grips the steering wheel, her knuckles white, a sharp sigh escaping her lips.

"Ugh, if these two drunkards don't move in the next five minutes, they're dead by my hands!" Vanshika fumed, her voice tight with anger.

"Chill, babe... It's okay," Ishana replied, completely unfazed, engrossed in taking selfies.

"Of course you'd say that! You're not the one stuck driving while you're busy taking selfies!" Vanshika shot back, her irritation mounting.

"Oh, come on, yaar! Why ruin your mood over these useless drunkards?" Ishana said dismissively.

"Aghhhh......chutiyeee saaaleee....." Vanshika muttered, grabbing her phone and scrolling through Instagram. There, she saw a story posted by Ishana, showing her, Vanshika, driving the car.

Vanshika glanced at Ishana, who offered a sheepish smile. "My professional driver," Ishana quipped, making Vanshika chuckle despite her earlier frustration.

After what felt like an eternity finally ended as the traffic cleared, and Vanshika smoothly drove off. After a while, they arrived at the club. Vanshika parked her car and they headed inside.

The moment Vanshika and Ishana stepped into the club, a wave of pulsating energy washed over them. The air thrummed with the deep, rhythmic bass of a DJ set, vibrating through the soles of their heels and up their legs. A dizzying array of neon lights in electric blues, vibrant purples, and fiery reds sliced through the hazy darkness, casting dynamic patterns on the dancing crowd. The collective murmur of conversations was swallowed by the booming music, forcing people to lean in close and shout to be heard.

"Hey guys, what's up!" A voice cut through the thrumming music.

Vanshika and Ishana turned, their faces lighting up as they saw Vihaan, their bestfriend.

Vihaan's outfit

( Sorry I forget to mention about Vihaan . He is the bestfriend of both Vanshika and Ishana who is also the COO of QUEEN )

"Hey kutte!! What's up! Ishana exclaimed excitedly.

"Hey vihuuu...." Vanshika greeted him warmly.

"Dekh isse kehete hai izzat tujhse se toh koi ummid hi nahi rakh sakte hai" Vihaan quipped, gesturing at Ishana.

"Apni shakal dekhi hai tune izzat Dene ke layak hi nahi hai wo toh Vanshi Tera Dil rakhne ke liye bol di. Ishana retorted mockingly.

"Dekho izzat Dene ki baat kon kar Raha hai" Vihaan shot back.

Ishana was about to reply, but Vanshika cut her off,"Hey,hey, stop it,guys! Let's go and enjoy the party! Let's goo!!! Vanshika exclaimed, pulling them towards dance floor.

Vanshika, feeling the freedom of the music, began with a subtle sway of her hips, her shoulders rolling to the beat. Her nude silk dress shimmered under the pulsating lights as she executed a series of fluid twirls, her arms gracefully extended, occasionally punctuated by a playful snap of the wrist.

Ishana, a vibrant streak of red, laughed as she matched Vanshika's energetic steps, incorporating more expressive hand gestures and quick, rhythmic footwork. She'd often lean back slightly, letting the music carry her as she moved her torso with playful abandon.

Vihaan, his smile wide, moved with an easy confidence, his steps a blend of contemporary club moves and classic Bollywood-inspired flourishes. He'd occasionally extend his arms to pull one of them closer in a playful embrace, their laughter mingling with the music.

They moved through the crowd with an unspoken understanding, sometimes forming a loose circle, at other times joining hands for a quick spin. There were moments of synchronized steps, followed by individual expressions of pure joy, as they lost themselves in the infectious energy of the song. They weren't just dancing; they were celebrating their friendship, their youth, and the boundless possibilities that lay ahead, leaving all their worries and irritations behind.

After their exhilarating dance performance, which had truly set the stage on fire, the trio made their way to the counter, seeking to cool down and savor the remainder of the evening.

"Whoohoo, bahut maza aaya na?" Ishana exclaimed, still a bit breathless as they made their way to the counter for drinks.

"Absolutely! That was amazing, and Vanshika, tune toh aaj aag laga di!" Vihaan added, high-fiving her.

"Oh, stop it! I wasn't alone; you both were incredible too. And ladkiya toh tujhe tade ja rahi thi!" Vanshika teased, nudging him.

"Sacchi?!Hayee...mujhe sharam aa rahi hai yaar," Vihaan gushed, burying his face in his palms in mock embarrassment.

Both Vanshika and Ishana burst into laughter at his exaggerated blushing.

"Hey babe, what's up!" A voice interrupted.

Vanshika turned around and her face instantly soured as she saw Ajay Mathur.

"Looking so hot as always..." Ajay drawled.

"What is it, Ajay?" Vanshika's voice was sharp, betraying her disinterest in any conversation.

Ajay extended his hand. "Wanna dance with me?"

Vanshika recoiled, swatting his hand away. "Just get the hell out of here, Ajay. This is the nth time I'm telling you to stay away from me."

"And this is the nth time I'm telling you that I really love you, babe," Ajay retorted.

"Love? Huh!" Vanshika scoffed. "You know what, Ajay, I'm not like other girls who fall for your charm. I'm not at all interested in this 'love' and all. This is your final warning: stay away from me, or it'll take me less than a second to disfigure that face these 'crazy girls' swoon over."

"We'll see," Ajay challenged. "If you don't fall for my love, then my name isn't Ajay Mathur."

"Then you better start thinking of a new name," Vanshika shot back, her voice brimming with confidence, "because that's never going to happen."

"You'll regret this, Vanshika," Ajay seethed, his voice thick with anger.

"Regret what? Not loving you?" Vanshika scoffed. "Please, Ajay, no girl would ever love you. Especially not a guy who just uses girls and then throws them away like trash. And those girls who fall for your so-called charm? They're all utterly foolish for being obsessed with you."

"Come on, Ajay, isse pehele mai tumhara muh tod du,get the fuck out of here!" Vanshika snapped, her patience worn thin.

With that, Ajay stormed off, seething with anger. Vanshika turned to face her friends, who had been thoroughly entertained, enjoying the spectacle with popcorn and drinks.

"Bass itna hi ? Areey ishuu mujhe toh laga ki hatafahi hogi yaar!" Vihaan exclaimed, still munching on his popcorn.

"Sahi Mai yaar Sara mood kharab ho Gaya! Vanshii yaar ek do laga na tha chutiye ko!," Ishana added, clearly disappointed by the tame exchange.

"Woh jab yaha aaya tha mujhe toh laga ki kamina gaya aaj!," Vihaan continued, popcorn still crunching.

"Hahaha...sach mai!" Ishana laughed, and Vihaan joined in. Vanshika gave them a sharp glare, instantly silencing both.

"Alright, jokes aside. I agree, it's better to die than love such a useless guy, but Vanshi, why don't you believe in love?" Vihaan asked, his tone more serious.

"Exactly! Tu novels padhti hai, romantic movies dekhti hai, teri playlists mai mostly romantic gaane hai aur you like love stories then why don't you believe in it yaar?" Ishana pressed.

Vanshika sighed. "It's not that I don't believe in love and all. I do believe in it. But..."

"But what?" Ishana and Vihaan asked in unison.

Vanshika sighed again., "Look I want to build up my career. Aur uske liye I don't need any distraction. I know ki mujhe distract karna easy nahi hai but still. Mujhe apne liye kuch karna hai apni life Mai kuch Banna hai. So that my parents can feel more proud on me. Aur rahi baat pyaar vyaar ki toh aesa nahi hai ki mai believe nahi karti mai karti hu aur karungi kese na after all mai apne govind ki aradhna karti hu so I really really believe in love. But I'm just waiting for right time, right person. Aur rahi baat pyaar karne ki toh Pyaar toh mai sirf apne Piya se karungi jisko mere Govind ne mere liye banaya hai. Aur mai sirf apne Piya ke intezaar mai hu. That's it!".

"Pata nahi Tera ye Piya kab aayega!" Ishana mused.

"Areey jab aayega tab aayega abhi ke liye enjoy karte hai... Cheers!" Vihaan exclaimed.

"Mmm... Let's take a group selfie!" Ishana proposed, after a sip of her drink.

"Tu aur teri selfie" Vanshika responded with a chuckle.

Vihaan then retrieved his phone, instructing,"Alright team, strike a pose!".

Vihaan, Ishana, and Vanshika were enjoying their time together, snapping photos and sharing laughs.

"Yaar photos kitne mast aaye hai na?" Ishana exclaimed, looking at a picture.

"Sacch mai kafi acchi hai," Vanshika agreed.

"Acchi honge kese nahi afterall Maine khichi hai!," Vihaan said, proudly adjusting his collar.

"Well, I hate to admit it, but you are pretty good at photography," Ishana conceded.

"Yeah, I know," Vihaan replied confidently.

"Alright, then hurry up and post them on Instagram and tag us both!" Ishana instructed.

"Done," Vihaan said after quickly uploading the picture.

"Great! Now let's have some fun," Vanshika declared.

The party wound down, laughter softening and music fading. Guests, their faces content, began to depart, leaving behind only the quiet echoes of a memorable evening.
